HDRI plug-in / HDRI-X plug-in creates high dynamic range images (EXR/HDR), useful data for CG creation, just by releasing the shutter.
Normally, to create high dynamic range images (EXR/HDR), it was necessary to perform the lengthy process of shooting an image with the camera and then editing it on a PC before creating EXR data. The HDRI plug-in enables you to use only THETA to simply press the shutter button once to perform the process from shooting to image editing.
Created high dynamic range images containing information with a wide range of brightness differences. This allows you to use them for ambient lighting when creating CG and rendering, which enables you to reproduce shades of light so that it feels as though you are actually in the space where the image was taken.
Example
Composite 3D material metallic can with 3D graphics software
1. Take a photo of the scene to use as background
2. Place THETA on the position where to place the can. At shoot with HDRI plug-in (EXR/HDR)
3. Composite the can with 3D graphics software
The default lighting settings of the 3D graphic software. Without EXR/HDR data.
Use the lighting data taken with THETA (EXR/HDR)
The default lighting settings of the 3D graphic software. Without EXR/HDR data.
Use the lighting data taken with THETA (EXR/HDR)
By using EXR/HDR data, you may reproduce not only the shades and light but also the reflection of that scene which makes the image much more real.
With the lighting data which possess 360° information, the lighting information is saved not only from one direction but 360°, so even when you change the direction of the 3D object, the lighting reproduces the way as if it were right there. The lighting reflection changes depending on the asset material.
As the viewpoint moves, the scenery reflected in the 3D object changes to match the surrounding environment.
The reflection changes according to the materiality of the 3D object.
